The BlueSolar MPPT solar charge controller intelligently collects energy from solar panels and stores it in your battery. Equally important, it maintains the health of your battery by protecting it from overcharging or undercharging. Victron MPPT solar charge controllers utilize Maximum Power Point Tracking technology to maximize energy harvest and achieve full battery charge in the shortest possible time. This advantage is most noticeable when the sky is partially clouded, and the light intensity on a solar array constantly changes. A Victron MPPT controller will improve energy harvest by up to 30% compared to PWM charge controllers and by up to 10% compared to slower MPPT controllers.
Remotely control a BlueSolar MPPT charger using VictronConnect by attaching a VE.Direct Bluetooth Smart dongle or connect the MPPT with a VE.Direct cable to a GX device, such as a Global Link 520 or Cerbo GX, to transmit PV and battery information to the Victron Remote Management portal.
Features include:
- Automatic Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) to optimize solar harvest in real-life weather and environmental conditions.
- Outstanding efficiency, exceeding 98%, and full output current up to 104°F.
- Eight preprogrammed algorithms, selectable with a rotary switch (see manual
- for details), or manually set charge parameters to the specifications of your exact battery.
- Over temperature protection and power derating when the temperature is high, as well as PV short circuit and PV reverse polarity/PV reverse current protection.

The BlueSolar 75/10, 75/15 and 100/15 can be connected to a 12V or 24V battery bank. The BlueSolar 100/20 MPPT can connect to a 12V, 24V or 48V system. Multiple BlueSmart MPPT chargers can be used in parallel.
The name of the solar charger reflects the maximum PV voltage and the maximum battery charge current. For example, a BlueSmart MPPT 100/15 has a maximum PV voltage of 100V and can charge the battery with a maximum of 15A.

Blue Solar and Smart Solar Victron MPPT solar chargers allow you to bring in a higher voltage from your solar array. How does this improve PV performance? Firstly, you can now wire panels in series and reduce connections on, for example, the roof of an RV or camper van, which raises the voltage and bumps the current down. Coming in at a higher voltage also means less cable line loss. We can also use smaller cables. You can start to see how little things add up quickly to improve the overall efficiency of a system.
Note that you can't just swap out a PWM for an MPPT and get a boost in performance. You can keep your existing solar array but will need to rewire it for higher voltage. (The incoming PV needs to be 5 Volts above the battery voltage before the MPPT will initiate a charge) To learn why, read our technical article.
